Salt Water Rainstorm
The sofa cushion
The finger tracing
the looping twisting pattern
the highs and lows in the plush fabric
The tears falling
in the hedgerows
flooding the open fields.

Nice and sweet poem, Claudia
What a lovely poem.
Thank you!
Thank you. Sometimes when I have been crying holding a pillow helps calm me, that is where this came from.
Lovely, evocative poem, Claudia. Many is the time that I have had a little weep while hugging a cushion close. I think that feeling of pressure can be soothing.
Thank you. I do the same thing and I think there is a feeling of making the space I’m in smaller (I don’t like to be trapped but I like the feeling of being enclosed especially if I am upset) and comforting me.
