Zero Forty

From Catch Up With Summer, 2015.

Zero Forty

Clay tile, 4″ x 4″, 2016.

The tow truck
lights flashing
moves down the street at a good clip
conveying two vehicles which
cannot. Move, that is.
One is tied down on the flatbed and the other attached behind
Both shimmying in silly-looking wiggles
at each bump in the road.
The rear car has
scrawled on the back window
in yellow grease pencil
which just adds to the humiliation
though I can’t say why.

  1. Yes. I feel sorry for the cars I see in this situation but also – they look so sheepish I have to laugh. I love the idea of “walk of shame”, I am laughing.
