Haiku 152, 156, 157, 158 – The Theme is Schoolwork

152.
The math tutor sighs
watching the student struggle
to solve the problem.

156.
The child turned the page
much too quickly to have read
any of the words

157.
The sharp pencil point
pressed hard into the tablet
snapped and left a mark

158.
The language student
spoke with such a bad accent
his words were ignored.

  1. I think the same things have been happening for generations and generations of schoolkids. Kind of strange when you think about it – the form of the schoolwork changes but the responses to it — the same!

  2. Yes. I felt the same way (it was inspired by watching a child and his father at the library). I love to read and did from the very start, so I felt how the child will be cut off from so much if he doesn’t like to read. At least I think so.
