Out of the Shards of Meaning

A Twenty Minutes poem.

Out of the Shards of Meaning

The store
if you had remembered
its address or
appearance or
actual name
which you didn’t
that would have surprised me.
but what’s more,
I took the directions you gave me
consisting of –
it’s behind the college –
and I found the store.
I don’t know what to think of this.

  1. Thank you. I have always liked the word “shards”. It seems perfect, looks and sounds like what it is. and combined with meaning, well, I get a very good broken-ness feeling in my mind as I write it.

  2. I have always been interested in how intuitive leaps are made even when the pieces don’t fit together. I also think about how pieces are put together in the wrong order. Or how they break apart and get scattered, some lost forever.
