Obstructive

A Twenty Minutes poem.

Obstructive

Now that you’ve put the bill in the envelope
backwards
so that the address is not showing
through the little cutout window
but instead an admonishment
to send the bill to the address listed
on the other side of the bill
that’s not showing
well, things are all in a muddle already
and you haven’t even tried to find a stamp
yet.

  1. Sounds familiar. But it is worse if you have put the stamp already and then you have to open the envelope again and the stamp is lost.

  2. Yes. That has happened to me, too, and I always say to myself, it’s only 45 cents or whatever, but, it somehow seems like a huge mistake and a big waste, somehow bigger than it really is!
