Last week I was walking in the park next to the creek. It was a beautiful morning and the woods were shady and cool. Sat down on a bench to rest and very soon I realized I had picked a spot with a lot to see and hear.

Here are some haikus from that little interlude.

Haiku Group Stream and Rocks

1.
The surefooted stream
stairsteps down the rock ledges
laughs and races off.

2.
Quick the stream trips, falls,
slips down the worn-smooth rock shelves
picks up and runs on

3.
Rumpled rock-split stream
gathered itself together
shook out its wrinkles

4.
Drop glide drop glide drop
The stream takes the steep ledges
with long-practiced ease

5.
Down the steep ledges
stairstepping quick and nimble
the stream turns and waves
