When I wrote this haiku last week, here was the situation (and I might add that we’re having a repeat of it this morning, too!):
It is raining very hard. Dark and gloomy, though mid-afternoon. I look out to our back yard and see this scene. And that is where this haiku came from.
Dogwood stands, calm, poised,
dressed in fresh white unruffled
by the straight-down rain.
